About the Author
Angelina Vivolo Lewis was born and raised on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She received a Bachelor's degree in History from Manhattanville College and a Master's degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from Touro College. Having been a teacher in New York City schools for several years, she is currently a full time mother to her two children with another little one on the way. Angelina grew up in the townhouse above her father's Italian restaurant in New York City. With a passion for early childhood education and the memories of her unique childhood, she was inspired to write her first children's book. She currently lives in Westchester, NY with her husband and children.

I selected this book for my grandchildren, because as a child, I grew up living upstairs from my grandfather’s restaurant. It brought back wonderful memories, as the story beautifully unfolds the fun, adventure and joy of family. My three year old granddaughter loved the book so, that she wants the book read at nap time and bedtime. My seven years old couldn’t wait to take the book to school, to share with her friends. It was nice to read a book that was not about princesses, superheroes or animals, but a very sweet story about a little girl and her family. Looking forward to a series of Angie’s adventures.
Like so many people who work in a business that requires a great deal of sacfice in not having enough time with your children it is great to read a true story of a girl growing up above her fathers restaurant and expressing the positive experiences of her family life and inspiring youngsters to enjoy what life presents them.
Through the eyes of this little girl, we see how the life of a bustling restaurant beautifully intertwines with that of her own family. Through her writing, the author is able to convey a sense of warmth and love. The illustrations are wonderful and they accompany the reader throughout the streets of Manhattan all the way into the apartment above the restaurant. A charming book for a young reader.
Children only know what it's like to live in their own little world. This sweet book opens a whole new world and lets them realize theres a lot of different homes. They'll find out what it's like to live in a big city and the adventures that come with living above a restaurant. I highly recommend this book and will enjoy reading it with my Grandchildren.
