Wow! What an incredible story. The beginning gives good insight into how difficult life in Russia is for the common man. The adventure of the Siberian dig was very descriptive. The main characters are well formed and the book is well written, flowing nicely despite some English flaws. I couldn't put it down . The Bigfoot with a "Predator" type manner was daunting. I will definitely be following this author.
It took a long time to get to the story, the author was trying to make a statement but lost me. The scary part was good on some levels but didn't really make sense.
I eagerly read any Bigfoot books I can get my hands on. This was one of my least favoritesWhile the aspect of growing up in the old Soviet Union was fascinating and depressing the Bigfoot details and interactions were simply vague.If you are a fan of Bigfoot there are far better books out there.
It was entertaining from the start it was a very different Bigfoot story than any books of Bigfoot I've read
This is a fresh and different Russian Bigfoot aka Almasty horror story of two intrepid bond diggers, who set out to dig up mammoth bones for profit only to run afoul of the true Master of the Forest. The Almasty in this story are not the friendly watchers in the forest.
The story starts off a bit slow, but does a great job at giving us a good insight on our main lead. However, once things start to pick up, it's action-packed and filled with plenty of suspense.I enjoyed the author's voice and how well every scene is described to where it's relatively easy to get a good mental picture of everything that's going on page to page.
While the format was a bit "formal" - kind of old fashioned really - it's a darn good yarn. Anything that leaves you wishing it were longer is a good book :)I was hoping there would be a sequel, but have no problem with the "case closed" ending. A very satisfactory morning reading this.
This story gave me chills. Could this be true? Could this really happen? Could these creatures be our relatives? Spine chilling, horrifying, breathtaking, and heart stopping. A must read!!!!
