Temple Grandin is a professor of animal science at Colorado State University and has written numerous books on autism, including the seminal Thinking in Pictures. HBO made an Emmy Award–winning movie about her life and she was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2016.

My six year old son and I love listening to audiobooks in the car. When we heard about Temple’s new book, “Calling All Mindsâ€, we counted down the days for it’s release and began listening that day. It did not disappoint. My boy loves to tinker and has a passion for mechanical things so this book is right up his alley. He’s excited to build some of these projects during summer break. The projects are age appropriate and practical, ranging from simple to moderately challenging. I don’t see us having a problem completing most of them. Last night we were fortunate to attend Temple’s talk promoting the book and got our hard copy. He left feeling empowered, confident and inspired. As a parent with a child on the spectrum, I highly value all of Temple’s books. This one was just for him. Overall, what we took from it was that unique minds can do incredible things. So here’s your fun, go-to manual to get started in a lifetime passion for creating and tinkering.
I code this book for my 12 year old nephew who would have been bored to death. Sketches are small and in black and white and book had poor paper quality
This is a great book! There are a lot of activities to experiment with and the book is really well written.
Anything written by this woman is well worth reading.
